Trial & Training
A ministry leader will contact you to arrange on-the-job training. The trial period takes off the pressure: if a role is not the right fit, you can explore another opportunity.
Short-Term Service
Serve for approximately 8–12 weeks. If you discover your ministry fit, you can continue; if not, choose another opportunity during the next SHAPE season.

Inside Sanctuary Greeter / Usher9:00 or 10:30 AM service
The Sunday morning experience begins before the service starts. Greet guests with a big smile, assist and direct families, help people find their way, and get to know them by name.
9:00 service: Sundays, 8:50–9:25 AM.
10:30 service: Sundays, 10:15–10:45 AM.
LifeWay Worship Team
Worship, production, and online ministry
Worship Team Musician / VocalistAudition-based role
Vocalists and band members engage people in worship from the stage. These audition-based roles require proficiency, preparation, and a willingness to receive musical and spiritual direction. Areas include vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, drums, bass, and keys.
ProPresenter OperatorTraining provided
Display song lyrics, Scripture, sermon notes, videos, and other visuals during worship. Operators should be attentive, accurate, comfortable using a computer, and able to follow the service plan and worship leader’s direction.
Livestream Audio TechnicianAudio experience required
Create a clear, balanced audio mix for the online worship experience. Work with the Front of House Audio Technician, worship team, and livestream team so music, speaking, and videos are heard clearly online.
Camera OperatorTraining provided
Capture clear, steady, engaging video that helps online viewers feel connected. Follow the Video Director and frame worship leaders, musicians, pastors, and service participants using stationary, mobile, or PTZ cameras.
Front of House Live Audio TechnicianAudio or technical ability needed
Provide clear, balanced, distraction-free sound for in-person worship. Mix vocals, instruments, speaking microphones, videos, and other audio while working closely with the Worship Pastor and platform team.
Community Ministry Leadership
Lead LifeWay beyond the church walls
Nursing Home Outreach Lead3–4 times per year
Lead visits to local nursing homes with special attention to residents who may feel overlooked or isolated. Organize volunteers, build relationships with residents and staff, and create meaningful opportunities to offer encouragement and Christ’s love.
C127 Foster Family Ministry LeadWeekly reminders and relational support
Coordinate ongoing support for foster families by organizing volunteers to provide weekly meals during a one-year commitment. Help volunteers build meaningful relationships and offer consistent, practical encouragement.
Canaveral Port Ministry Lead3–4 times per year
Lead ministry efforts serving cruise-ship crews working at and traveling through Port Canaveral. Organize volunteers, build relationships, and offer encouragement, practical support, and the love of Christ to crew members from around the world.
Freeway Homeless Ministry Lead3–4 Thursdays per year
Coordinate LifeWay’s partnership with Freeway to serve people experiencing homelessness. Organize volunteers to provide practical support, build meaningful relationships, and personally engage with people in our community.
New Missions Shoebox Drive Lead1–2 times each fall
Mobilize volunteers to serve at the New Missions warehouse, packing completed shoeboxes into larger shipping boxes for children in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Coordinate the team and create a meaningful opportunity to serve together.
Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway LeadSeasonal fall opportunity
Lead the Thanksgiving turkey giveaway by organizing volunteers and overseeing distribution to individuals and families in our community. Help LifeWay demonstrate Christ’s love through practical generosity.
Children’s Ministry
Help children feel safe, known, and loved
Children’s ministry volunteers must:
- Attend LifeWay for six months or more.
- Be pursuing church membership by attending or planning to attend Classes 101–401.
- Pass a background check.
Bible Squad BuddiesWednesday evenings during LifeGroup seasons
Provide dedicated one-on-one support that helps a child with special needs participate, feel safe, and engage in Bible Squad activities. The number of volunteers needed depends on registered children.
Kids Check-In Greeters3 volunteers needed
Welcome families as they check children in. Learn the check-in system, help add new families and children, answer questions, and create a warm first impression for guests and regular attenders.
9:00 service: 8:45–9:15 AM.
10:30 service: 10:15–10:45 AM.
3rd–5th Grade Class Teacher1 volunteer needed
Implement classroom activities with a small group of third- through fifth-grade children and provide assistance in Kidstown. Serve during the 10:30 service every other Sunday.
Kids Club Class Helpers2 volunteers needed
Assist the preschool–kindergarten teacher in the classroom and interact with children through play and other activities. Serve during the 10:30 service every other Sunday.
Children’s Ministry Substitutes3–4 volunteers needed
Fill in for teachers or helpers as needed in the nursery, Kids Club, and elementary classes. Substitutes may choose the 9:00 service, the 10:30 service, or both.
9:00 service: 8:45–10:15 AM.
10:30 service: 10:15 AM–12:00 PM.
Nursery Volunteers4 volunteers needed
Care for children from birth through age three on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings during LifeGroup seasons. Help provide a safe, loving environment for LifeWay’s youngest children.
Sundays: 8:45–10:15 AM or 10:15 AM–12:00 PM.
Wednesdays: 6:45–8:30 PM.
Absentee Mailouts1 work-from-home volunteer needed
Send letters to children who were absent, letting them know they were missed and including a Kids Church take-home activity. Each Monday, Mrs. Joy will provide the list and all materials.
